　　【摘 要】 论文从信息技术、精神需求、社会价值观、第三空间等理论四个方面论述了继知识、学习、文化中心之后图书馆肩负的新的社会使命——人文关怀中心，并从图书馆硬件与软件建设两个方面探寻实践这一使命的途径。

　　【Abstracts】 This paper discusses the new social mission of the library, so called humanitarian center except for the traditional functions of the library such as knowledge, study and culture center in the following aspects: Information technology, spiritual needs, social values and the third space theory etc. In addition, it finds the way to achieve this goal from two aspects: the hardware and software construction of the library.
