Ancient Book Donation Campaign
Ancient books, as a great container of historical culture, play an indispensable role in tieing the Chinese nation together. Meanwhile, they’re also part of world’s cultural heritage, which need us to safeguard and explore.
As the third largest library in china, Nanjing Library boasts 16,000,00 ancient books, accounting for nearly 6 percent of all ancient books nation-wide and 44 percent in Jiangsu province. Unfortunately many of these books are deteriorated with age. So far there’re about 480,000 volumes ancient books in NL needing repairing urgently. In order to save these precious literary heritages from disappearing from our eyes, we initiate the Donation Campaign. We encourage you, rich or poor, celebrated or unknown, collective or private, Chinese or foreign, to make any possible donations to the collection care. In return, each donator will receive a certificate with photos of books before and after repairing enclosed. We have a non-profit status, so you can make your donations tax-efficiently.
These cultural treasures not only belong to us but to the world; not only belongs to this generation but to the future generations. We sincerely expect your help and support both spiritually and financially.
